Poetry Volumes by Elizabeth Rooney

All Miracle is a four volume set of poetry by Elizabeth B. Rooney, late wife of our own late Rev. Edwin (Mike) Rooney. The books were published by their daughter, Patricia Rooney, under the name Brigham Farm Publishing.

The four soft cover volumes, each containing about 95 poems, correspond to spring (Morning Song), summer (Packages), autumn (Storing September) and winter (Gift Wrapped). Poems are grouped by these seasonal themes, and include not only celebrations of God in the natural seasons, but also in the liturgical year and life’s seasons. To learn more about the poet, preview sample poems and read some endorsements, visit www.brighamfarm.com. Purchasing inquiries can be made by phoning Patti Rooney, 437-3588, or e-mail: books@brighamfarm.com. Books may also be purchased through the website. They are $12.95 each or $45.50 for the set of four (plus tax).

Elizabeth requested that all royalties from her poetry sales be given to the Society of the Companions of the Holy Cross, a lay order of Episcopal women, and The Convent of the Holy Name, Malvern, England, an Anglican sisterhood.

My Eden

I would be
Like a watered garden
For the Lord -
My roots, deep in His goodness,

My leaves, green with His grace.
I would
That He would create in me
A space
Filled with His loveliness
And that in the cool of the evening
He would come
And walk about the place.

Opening
Now is the shining fabric of our day
Torn open, flung apart,
Rent wide by Love.
Never again
The tight, enclosing sky,
The blue bowl,
Or the star-illumined tent.
We are laid open to infinity,

For Easter Love
Has burst His tomb and ours.
Now nothing shelters us
From God’s desire -
Not flesh, not sky,
Not stars, not even sin.
Now Glory waits
So He can enter in.
Now does the dance begin.
