A PRAYER FOR ST. DUNSTAN’S
written by St. Dunstan’s Interim Task Force.

Gracious God, thank you for the community of St. Dunstan’s and for calling us to be a part of this holy place. Help us to explore and clarify our identity as your people. May we listen with open minds to each other, to your creation and to you. Give us the grace to understand our part in your church’s mission to restore all people to unity with God and each other in Christ. Please send your Holy Spirit to be a bridge from where we are to where you want us to be. Amen.

PRAYER FOR THE DISCERNMENT OF A RECTOR

Almighty God, river of every good gift: look graciously on your church, and so guide the minds of those who shall choose a rector for this parish, that we may receive a faithful pastor, who will care for your people and equip us for our ministries; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.   (Book of Common Prayer 1979, page 818.)

THE GENERAL THANKSGIVING  (BCP p. 101)

Almighty God, Father of all mercies, we your unworthy servants give you humble thanks for all your goodness and loving-kindness to us and to all whom you have made. We bless you for our creation, preservation, and all the blessings of this life; but above all for your immeasurable love in the redemption of the world by our Lord Jesus Christ; for the means of grace, and for the hope of glory. And, we pray, give us such an awareness of your mercies, that with truly thankful hearts we may show forth your praise, not only with our lips, but in our lives, by giving up our selves to your service, and by walking before you  in holiness and righteousness all our days; through Jesus Christ our Lord, to whom, with you and the Holy Spirit, be honor and glory throughout all ages. Amen.

KEEP WATCH (BCP p. 124)

Keep watch, dear Lord, with those who work, or watch, or weep this night, and give your angels charge over those who sleep. Tend the sick, Lord Christ; give rest to the weary, bless the dying, soothe the suffering, pity the afflicted, shield the joyous; and all for your love’s sake. Amen.
