2010 LENTEN MEDITATIONS
is a free devotional booklet from Episcopal Relief and Developoment (ERD) available in the Gathering Area. We will have a special collection for ERD on the second Sunday of Lent. Contributions to ERD can be made at any time by writing a check to St. Dunstan’s with “ERD” on the memo line or putting cash in an envelope with “ERD” written on it.

ST. DUNSTAN’S LENTEN PROGRAM
will be based on Strength for the Journey by Diana Butler Bass. Evening and daytime discussion times will be offered.
Thursdays beginning February 18:
6:00 p.m. Holy Eucharist
6:30 p.m. Potluck meal
7:00 p.m. Strength for the Journey discussion
Wednesdays beginning February 24:
1:00 p.m. Strength for the Journey discussion.

WEDNESDAY MORNING BOOK GROUP
will be reading The Last Week: What the Gospels Really Teach About Jesus’ Final Days in Jerusalem, by Marcus Borg and John Dominic Crossan, during Lent. THE WAY OF THE CROSS:
A solemn liturgy for walking and praying the journey of Jesus from his condemnation to his being laid in the tomb will be led each Friday during Lent at noon. The stunning depictions in glass and brass were made by Dr. Thomas Leonard.

April 2. Good Friday. Stations of the Cross, 12 noon. Good Friday liturgy, 12:30 and 7 pm.
April 3. Easter Eve. Great Vigil of Easter 8 pm.
April 4. Easter Day. 7:30 and 10 am.

The Great Vigil of Easter and Easter Sunday are baptism opportunities.

Learn the Episcopal Way!!!
Open Learning Sessions for those 12 years old and far above!!!
Fr. Bob Lambert will lead a Basic Christian Study Group on Sunday mornings during Epiphany. These sessions are open to all and will start at 8:45 AM with Morning Prayer. 9-9:30 will be a discussion of material from the book My Faith, My Life, the Book of Common Prayer, the Bible, and the Hymnal. The sessions will close with a Life Application discussion and prayers. These sessions will increase your knowledge and experience in the Episcopal way of living the Christian Tradition. This or a similar program is expected of those who wish to be received or confirmed. Readings from My Faith, My Life are recommended but not required.

Community of Hope

The mission of The Community of Hope is to create Christian communities of lay volunteer pastoral care givers united in prayer, shaped by Benedictine spirituality, and equipped for and serving in pastoral care ministries. Through a 13-week training course, participants explore God’s call on our lives. Each participant explores a “rule of life” and practices silence and Christian meditation while attending weekly meetings to learn about pastoral care practices such as listening skills, confidentiality, and coping with grief and loss.

Contemplative Prayer

A Julian Gathering is a small group of people meeting to support each other in the practice of contemplative prayer and spirituality. These gatherings are supported by the Order of Julian of Norwich (www.orderofjulian.org) and have the quintessentially Anglican writings of Bl. Mother Julian of Norwich at their core. They are for everybody who wants to deepen their life of faith through the practice of contemplative prayer. Each meeting includes time for contemplative prayer, fellowship, and reading/discussion of Bl. Julian’s revelations. At the beginning of each meeting, brief instruction on the practice of contemplative prayer is offered. A Julian Gathering meets at St. Dunstan’s the second Wednesday of the month at 7:15 pm.

Time for still, contemplative prayer is offered Friday mornings, 8-8:30 am, in the sanctuary at St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church, 1833 Regent Street, Madison, 608-233-3249.
