Formation Sunday Sept. 12

September 12 is formation Sunday. That day formation opportunities are available for all ages. Adult Bible study will be in the chapel meeting room from 9:00-9:45 a.m. Until Advent the Gospel readings will be from Luke. September 12, the discussion will be Luke 16:1-13, regarding our daily lives. Middle and high schoolers are welcome. Children’s formation programs will meet during the 10:00 service. Children age 3-5 will participate in the Godly Play curriculum in the chapel. Children age 6-10 will have class in the downstairs classroom. The children will begin church with their parents. After the processional hymn the children will process out with their leader. They will rejoin their parents during the Peace to participate in communion.

We welcome the Rev. Bob Koskela as our celebrant Sunday. St. Dunstan’s will honor people with birthdays and anniversaries Sunday; please come forward at the invitation during announcements. Sunday, as on the first Sunday of each month, there will be a special collection to benefit the Middleton Outreach Ministry (MOM) food pantry. If you prefer to donate food for the pantry, please consider canned meats/fish (chicken, ham tuna), peanut butter, jelly/jam, macaroni & cheese, spaghetti sauce, toiletries, cleaning supplies, laundry detergent, diapers. Donations may be brought to the church and volunteers will deliver them to the pantry.

Senior Warden Valerie McAuliffe and Junior Warden Shirley Laedlein are in charge at St. Dunstan’s until we have a new rector in place. To contact them, call the parish office or look in the parish directory.

A Gift For Father Lambert

It’s not too late to contribute to the “purse” for Father Bob, whose last Sunday was August 29. Please make out your check to St. Dunstan’s with “purse” on the memo line. If you give cash, please write “purse” on the envolope containing the cash. We hope to receive all contributions by Sunday, September 5.

Area Youth Formation

Singing Rooster Coffee

Singing Rooster coffee is available again from the Haiti project. It can be ordered from Shirley Laedlein, or ordered online via the diocese website, www.diomil.com. Regular or decaf, ground or beans are available. The coffee is $9.00 per bag. The development of this business provides economic assistance to the diocesan Haiti project in Jeannette.

Old Middleton Road is Closed

Old Middleton Road is closed to through traffic from Capitol Avenue to Countryside Lane. Work is scheduled from June 21 to October 28. From about July 14 to about August 4 the road will be closed to all traffic.
